Today is the final day that I can work in the media center for the summer. My media specialist is off until the teachers return to school. Today Dr. Sands taught me how to input information into the automated purchase order system. It seems like a very confusing system, but I am sure once I used it all the time, I would be able to master it. There are so many different accounts that money is put into and comes out of, I would have to be very careful not to mess up and pull from the wrong account. It was a very interesting process to see!
I also helped Dr. Sands organize the media center. We went through some of her cabinets and pulled pretty much everything out to put in its place. We found so many different cords!! We found some that went to computers that had been discarded years ago! We also cleaned out and organized several closets that needed to be purged. The things that we threw away....
Working with Dr. Sands in the media center, even for this very short time, has given me a new sense of respect for all the different hats she has to wear on a daily basis! I got a very small glimpse into her daily routine - I can't imagine how she fits it all in when the teachers are actually in the building!! I can't wait to come back in the fall and complete more hours and get a real sense of the job that she tackles every day!
