Today I continued to work on my assignment pertaining to the reference collection. I looked more in depth at the collection as a whole and determined what was missing. I went through the electronic catalog and compared that to the K-5 standards in both social studies and science. I determined there was a great area of weakness in the reference collection and searched to find supplemental online resources for the areas of discrepancy. I have compiled a list of references that can be used to supplement the print resources for each grade level and each standard. These are posted on the blog under "FRIT 7737 Resources". I have also had the media specialist attach them to the school's website for parent use as well. This took quite a while and I will use the information learned to start working on the order that can be created for this section.
